Having a reliable asset inventory, namely knowing what component is installed where, is essential to cost effectively and safely run a network. Over time components are replaced at specific locations leading to a drift in what’s actually at a location and what a company’s asset management system thinks is there. This increases network risk and unexpected maintenance costs.
Operators regularly and frequently gather images of assets during routine maintenance and inspection activity. These images could be manually inspected to determine what is installed where. With millions of images this isn’t feasible. We use AI to generate a high resolution asset inventory from the latest images.
Asset Inventory Correction uses object detection and classification to complete an asset inventory for our customers. We are able to process millions images of thousands of assets to determine what’s installed. Something not feasible manually but an ideal use case for AI.
